Day 1: In the beginning…
OK its not that big but we do need a talented amazing and incredible individual to head our PR for Artwalk2012.
Your mission should you choose to accept it will be to let everyone know the festival is happening. You’ll be responsible for writing fresh, timely press releases and organising the press kit, getting info into gig guides, blogging, tweeting and facebooking as well as cultivating those important relationships with journalists and other members of the mass media.

BE PART OF ARTWALK IN 2011
Artwalk2011 is calling for proposals for performances and exhibitions to be presented on the festival’s main programme from 22nd July to 24th July 2011.
We are looking for artists from Handsworth in Birmingham and the surrounding locale with new and compelling work that raises the bar of excellence and innovation in the performing arts, visual arts and cross-disciplinary arts.
Detailed written proposals must be submitted to the Festival Director and must include:
*Background of the institution, artist or promoter submitting the proposal
*A narrative description of the production / performance /exhibition
*Brief narrative biographies of the principal artists
*An artistic statement motivating why the work should be presented at Artwalk2011
*A preliminary budget
The following must also be included with the proposal:
*Theatre: a play-script or script in progress
*Music: CD / DVD
*Dance/Physical Theatre: DVD
*Visual art/exhibitions: a portfolio (if applicable) or full details of the exhibition that is being proposed
*Performance art/cross disciplinary art: CD/DVD and any other materials that will support the proposal
The Festival Director is available for consultation for further guidelines about submitting proposals. Proposals must reach the Director no later than Friday 25th February 2011.
